Homepage

Looking for support in English for your child in KS3 or KS4? I offer in person and online tutoring in both English Language and English Literature, helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve their potential in this core subject.

Here at Beyond the Page English Tutoring, we want to help!

I am excited to launch Beyond the Page English Tutoring offering support in this core subject for both school and home educated students. If you are looking for one-to-one tutoring, online tutoring, small group tutoring, workshops on specific texts, or  support through GCSEs – both Language and Literature – in all exam boards, then look no further and get in contact.

By investing in tutoring you are supporting your child build confidence, strengthen their skills and achieve their potential in this important subject. If your child is suffering from lack of confidence in their writing skills, feel that they miss the point with their literary analysis or would just like to consolidate their learning so they achieve their potential in this vital subject, I can offer you the perfect solution.

Through tutoring we can make great progress. I take the time to get to know the student; their strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and what causes concerns for them. The best bit about tutoring is when the student recognises how they far they have come. Together, we can really make the difference in your child’s outcomes in English.

A little bit about myself. I live in the Norfolk village of Northwold, am a mum of three (grown-up) children, keen gardener, film lover and theatre goer. It goes without saying that I enjoy reading. I love quiz nights, visiting the coast and cooking for people.

I’ve been employed in the education sector for 15 years now, as a teaching assistant, instructor in English and then a qualified secondary school English teacher. I have a vast experience of working with SEND students and have an excellent record of results in the class plus also in private tutoring. Additionally, I have been an examiner for GCSE Literature which has given me an insight to what the exam boards are looking for. I have an Enhanced DBS, and recently completed Safeguarding and Prevent training.

I decided to take the opportunity and follow the tutoring path. I love working with the students individually or in small groups as I love seeing them recognise their progress, and also offering them a safe place to explore the concepts and questions English can throw up.

What Parents Think

Caroline tutored our son Ben for his GCSE English Language and Literature in 2024 when he was not predicted a pass. He achieved a solid grade 5 in both.

Caroline provided engaging and really helpful sessions that Ben saw the benefit of in his lessons, as well as in revision closer to the exams.

English turned from being a subject that Ben switched off from to one he felt confident and secure in. This is all
thanks to Caroline, her relaxed style, her warm and trusting approach and her huge experience.

We would not hesitate to recommend Caroline to any student needing support.

- Alison, Parent

We are so grateful for the support and encouragement you gave our son.

You took the time to truly understand him, build his confidence, and encourage him to believe in himself.

The improvement in his English grade was incredible, but more importantly, you helped him realise what he was capable of.

Thank you for your
patience, dedication, and belief in him — we couldn’t recommend you highly enough!

- Claire, Parent

Our Daughter was struggling with her English in year 11. We contacted Caroline to help, the first few sessions our daughter was very anxious and I had to be there with her, over time with a very understanding Caroline and her obvious enthusiasm for the subject our daughter gained her confidence.

We were over the moon with the result our Daughter got three grades above her predicted grade and could continue on her path to college and now university to study for her chosen career.

She would not have been able to do this without the help and support from Caroline, for which we are very grateful.
